Zhongwei is situated in the Midwest of Ningxia. It is bound on the west by Gansu Province, on the north by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on the east by Wuzhong City, and on the south by Gansu Province and Guyuan City. The crisscrossed highway and crosswisely interweaved railway in Zhongwei City link the communications in the Northwest and the East areas, and keep the communication between eastern and western China run smoothly. Zhongwei is one of the major transportation hubs in the Northwest. Besides, the Yellow River runs through the frontier area of Zhongwei. Zhongwei is also adjacent to Tengger Desert. It has not only created the wonder of Zhongwei rice and Zhongwei sand-control, but also formed a peculiar view.
